Grant High School’s College and Digital Arts Magnet Named A Top 2024 Magnet School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America.
During an awards ceremony in New York City on April 19, 2024, Grant High School’s College and Digital Arts Magnet was named one of the top 2024 Magnet Schools of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America, the national association for magnet and theme-based schools.
Grant’s College Prep and Digital Arts Magnet teaches students to be critical thinkers and active learners. Our CPDA teachers work closely together to develop curriculum and approaches to engage our students, promote a college-bound culture, adopt strategies to help students reach their academic potential, and use digital arts to enhance their learning. Principal McMurrin shared how delighted she is that Grant’s CPDA Magnet earned such a prestigious award. She said, “This award recognizes the diligence and dedication of our teachers and students. We are so honored that Magnet Schools of America selected us to be one of only a few high schools in the country to earn this recognition.”
Presentation of Excellence Award:
Principal Rebecca McMurrin and Coordinator Andrea Caruso were recognized and received a National Magnet School of Excellence Merit Award on behalf of the school during an awards ceremony held during Magnet Schools of America’s National Conference this week in New York City.
Merit School of Excellence Awards are only given to a select group of magnet schools.
To receive a national merit award, members of Magnet Schools of America must submit a detailed application that is scored by a panel of educators. These schools are judged and scored on their demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.
