How can I stay informed and ready for the new school year?
Enrollment:
- We still have space available for new students!
- Prospective students may enroll online at apply.lausd.net if they're interested in one of our magnets or our School for Advanced Studies.
- Students may also come in person and complete an enrollment packet by visiting our Admissions Office during regular office hours.
- You may also visit enroll.lausd.net to enroll a new student at Grant!
What should I bring if I am enrolling a new student?
- If new to LAUSD:
- Birth certificate
- Transcripts (if coming from another district).
- Verification of address (examples of documents):
- Utility bill
- Rental agreement
- New 9th grade students should bring their last report card--it helps ensure counselors are programming you in the right classes.
When will I get my schedule?
- Students will be able to receive a preview copy of their courses and request changes before the school year starts. We will announce a day and time that students will be able to come pick up their program preview and meet with their counselor to request changes. Please monitor our website and social media accounts--the date has not been scheduled yet.
- Students will receive a copy of their Period 1 class on Thursday, August 8th. Students should check their LAUSD email address on the afternoon of Thursday, August 8th to find out where they should report for Period 1. During Period 1, students will receive the rest of their schedule.
When is orientation?
- New student orientation is Thursday, August 1st at 6:00pm in the gym. The orientation is focused for 9th grade students, but any new student is welcome to attend.
- Freshman picnic is Friday, August 2nd, beginning at 9:00am!

When will I get my textbooks?
- Textbooks will be distributed in the first week of school.
