In response to the ongoing concerns related to COVID-19 (aka coronavirus), LAUSD has made the difficult decision to close schools.  On Friday, 3/13/2020 , we sent home a cover letter with information and lessons for math, English, science, and history classes.  These basic materials will help with the continuity of instruction in the event of a school closure.

We also issued hundreds of Chromebooks to students whose parents expressed interest or a need. Those devices were sent home with the student and should be returned when schools re-open.

School will be closed at least until March 30.

We are still working on getting Hot Spots to the students who did not have Internet access at home. However, in the meantime, some companies are offering FREE Internet access to students. Please click the link to get details.

Lessons have been posted to the school website. If students have specialized classes, such as AP courses or honors, they should also check their teachers Schoology page to ensure there are not additional lessons. Click here to open the Continuity of Instruction Lesson page.

LAUSD and Grant High School are taking steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 (aka coronavirus) and keep our campus safe. LAUSD officials are communicating closely with local officials to monitor the ongoing situation with COVID-19. At this time, no cases have been connected to our school community.

The district has authorized additional over-time for our plant management team to conduct daily disinfecting on campus. As always, our full-time school nurse is available in the Health Office to assess students, take temperatures, and communicate with families.

Some of the most important steps are proper hand-washing and limiting exposure. School operations and activities are ongoing, but some adjustments may be made according to recommendations. Parents and families can also visit lausd.net for additional resources and videos.

CAASPP testing, also referred to as SBAC and CAST, are fast approaching. Please see the school calendar for dates, or read the attached Parent letter.

Alumni, are you interested in contributing to scholarships for Lancers? For years, the Lancer Class of 1967 has generously donated money to benefit our graduating seniors and get them started in college. If you're interested, please contact Principal McMurrin to learn more.

Planned Parenthood will be coming to Grant to provide parent education opportunities in several topic areas. Please see the attached file to see the topics and current class dates.

Don't forget! Spring Semester begins on Monday, January 13th. The first bell rings at 7:50am, so don't be late. Students will receive copies of their Spring Semester schedule in their Period 1 classes. Lists will be posted around campus with Period 1 locations.
